You're
going to want to be there because
John's
planned some great things.
Here's a preliminary schedule, so you can mark your calendars and start making plans:
Sunday - Oct 9 - Hospitality Room opens at the beautiful Holiday Inn on the Beach in Galveston. It's too early to make reservations, but we have blocked rooms for our crew at the discounted nightly rate of $90.85 (tax included). We'll supply the booking code and reservation numbers at a later date.
Monday - Oct 10 - Optional tour to NASA Space Center in Houston. We were there when the first space flights took place. On this tour you'll be able to see and touch all the history and artifacts of NASA. Learn more about the Houston space center at www.spacecenter.org.
Monday - Oct 10 - Possible golf outing for the duffers.
Tuesday - Oct 11 - Optional tour to the Lone Star Flight Museum with displays of aircraft and many hundreds of artifacts related to the history of flight. Most of these rare aircraft are still flyable! Learn more about the Lone Star Flight Museum at www.lsfm.org. And then we will travel on to Moody Gardens a major tourist complex with rainforests, aquariums, and many attractions. Learn more about the Moody Gardens at www.moodygardens.com. It's a big day so lunch is included.
Wednesday - Oct 12 - A special tour to Seawolf Park including a Memorial Service for our departed shipmates. Seawolf Park is home to USS Cavalla (SS 244) and USS Stewart (DE 238). Their web site is at www.cavalla.org. Lunch and our evening banquet are included.
So mark your calendars. We've got a great reunion planned for 2011.
