When the Balloon Went Up!

The Balloon Federation of America (BFA) is a non-profit sporting/education association.   They publish a bi-monthly 56 page magazine dedicated to the sport of hot air and gas ballooning.   Recently the BFA has been running a series of articles dealing with the early history of ballooning, including the use of balloons in covert intelligence operations in the 1950s.   The following article deals with manned balloon launch operations aboard submarines, including the USS Sennet in 1955.   The BFA magazine is available only to their approximately 2500 members, so they have kindly allowed us to post a reprint of their article.
